Publishers Description:
Provides a search engine and directory list with over 1,300 URLs to systems and resources. The list is available in 7 different formats to use on your PC or import into another program. Formats avalable are Word, Excel, PDF, dBASE/FoxPro, ASCII delimited, HTML, and as an HTML server side include (SSI) file to add a list to your web site so visitors can submit their sites. All files are updated monthly.
The company uses the HTML and Excel files to submit clients sites and keep track of the results by hand. You can submit the average site to over 170 sites this way and get the benefit of traffic and link building. |

Their "submission system" is just an web page with links to over 1,300 search engines, directories, and webmaster sites and an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of where and when you submit your site.
It's pretty boring when you compare it to the submission programs that are out there. But many of the good ones are expensive and you have to pay to keep them updated. This method only costs the amount of time you want to spend on it, and most professionals that submit sites say that submiting by hand is the only way to go.
If you follow the recommendations, it's going to take you a long time to submit your site to the main list. You would never submit to all 1,300 because many are non-US sites, and many only apply to specific topics. Still, it adds up to a lot of sites.
What I like about this is that even though you are submitting to many small directories and search engines that may not send you much traffic, there are a lot of them, like SplatSearch.com that really do send you traffic. In addition to that, if you are looking to get links to your site, most do not ask for links in return. There is a section of sites that you will have to link to in order to get listed, but there are so many others you may not bother.
If you have the time and the interest, it's worth a look and it's completely free.
